VB4-MST Mobile Security Trailer
Solar-powered, cloud-managed video security you tow to the site, set up in minutes, and run without power, trenching, or a network drop. When the sun runs short, the onboard generator starts itself, and you watch power and cameras from anywhere.
Where it’s used
Coverage where nothing is wired yet.
Temporary and remote sites get hit before permanent cameras go up, if they ever do. The VB4-MST brings its own power, network, and cameras.
Construction sites
Equipment and materials sit out overnight long before the building has power or cameras. Cover the yard from day one.
Parking lots
Break-ins, slip-and-fall claims, and after-hours incidents, with video and plate reads when you need the evidence.
Remote locations
Substations, cell sites, farms, events, and temporary facilities with no power or network to tie into.
On the mast
A head built for your site.
The mast head is configured per client. Pick the mix of cameras, deterrence, and lighting the site needs; the cellular gateway rides up top with them. A hand-crank telescoping mast lifts the head to 25 ft, with optional set points at 15 and 20 ft.
Cameras
Verkada PTZ, multi-sensor, fisheye, and bullet cameras, mixed to cover the site.
License plate recognition
Optional dedicated LPR cameras for vehicle identification, hot lists, and lot management.
Deterrence
Speakers for automated or live voice-down, strobes, and sirens. Warn people off before anything happens.
Lighting
LED area lighting powered by the solar system, so a dark site stays lit without running power.
Intercom
Two-way audio to talk with crews on site, or with someone who should not be there.
Cellular gateway
4G LTE/5G at the mast head with two SIM slots. Live video, alerts, and remote access wherever there is coverage.
Power
Sun first. The generator covers the rest.
Four 450 W panels charge a 24 V battery bank all day. When a long overcast stretch drains it, the onboard generator starts itself, recharges the bank, and shuts off. Nobody has to drive out.
1,800 W solar array
Four 450 W high-efficiency panels, fixed angle, on racks that slide out on site and stow for towing. An MPPT controller turns their output into the right charge for the batteries.
Gel battery bank
Sealed gel lead-acid (VRLA) batteries, 12 V 200 Ah each, wired in pairs for 24 V: 9.6, 14.4, or 19.2 kWh. Lithium optional.
Auto-start gasoline generator, standard
When the bank drops to a set voltage, the generator starts, charges, and shuts itself off. VanBelkum sets the thresholds for your battery type before delivery. An integrated fuel tank with its own gauge keeps it running between visits.
Shore power
A 30 A twist-lock inlet charges the bank from mains power while the trailer keeps running. The adapter cord to a standard 110 V plug is sold separately; we can supply one.
120 V outlet
A household outlet on the cabinet, fed by a 500 W inverter, for a laptop, chargers, or a small tool.
Battery capacity
| Batteries | Capacity | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 4 | 9.6 kWh | |
| 6 | 14.4 kWh | |
| 8 (as built) | 19.2 kWh |
All three are sealed gel lead-acid (VRLA) at 24 V. Each battery is 12 V, 200 Ah, or 2.4 kWh. The array covers a two-to-four-camera load comfortably from spring through fall in Michigan. Winter deployments, or a full load of cameras, lights, and speakers, lean on the generator or a shore-power top-up. We’ll help you size the bank for the site and the season.
Remote management
Watch the power and the cameras from anywhere.
Two dashboards, both over the trailer’s own cellular link. Power runs on a Victron system controller; cameras run in Verkada Command. No site visit to check either one.
Power: Victron
- Touch display in the cabinet shows solar coming in, battery voltage and charge, and what the loads draw
- Remote power dashboard over cellular: charge, solar, load, and generator, from anywhere
- Low-battery alerts so you plan a top-up instead of reacting to one
- Generator start/stop run by the system controller, thresholds set for your battery type
- VictronConnect app on your phone when you are standing at the trailer
Cameras: Verkada
- Verkada Command for live view, playback, and alerts in a browser or the mobile app
- AI analytics that tell people and vehicles from animals and weather
- Detect & Deter: AI-triggered deterrence responses
- License plate recognition on LPR-equipped heads
- Cloud-managed firmware updates and camera health monitoring
- API and SSO for larger teams
